RED Ball 2017: Ring The Alarm
December 1: 404 10th Ave. (Manhattan)
The NYC Department of Health will mark World AIDS Day with their annual RED Ball on Friday, December 1, 2017. RED stands for “Remembering. Empowering. Doing.” The event raises awareness of the issues surrounding the HIV virus, and celebrates the LGBTQ community with a fashion show and runway competition — with cash prizes for the best looks. Mindfulness in the Face of Injustice
December 1 and 2: 630 2nd Avenue (Murray Hill)
This two-day seminar organized by New York Insight Meditation Center will focus on the subject of mindfulness as a strategy to combat social and economic injustice. Expertise will come from author and professor Jon Kabat-Zinn, who created a stress reduction program used by health professionals around the world, and mindfulness teacher Rhonda Magee, who specializes in contemplative law. IAEDP NY Winter Gala 2017
December 2: Yale Club of New York City (Midtown)
The New York chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals will hold their 7th Annual Winter Gala on Saturday, December 2 this year at the prestigious Yale Club. Healthcare Through the Ages
December 4: Oliver Wyman (Midtown)
NYC Health Business Leaders are holding a holiday party and panel discussion on Monday, December 4, 2017, centered around the issue of how health consumers’ needs vary between generations.
